Liverpool’s season took another dramatic twist after Mohamed Salah sensationally accused the club of “throwing him under the bus” following his third consecutive game on the bench. The Egyptian superstar, once the face of the Reds’ success, now insists his relationship with manager Arne Slot is “broken.”

Liverpool drew 3–3 with Leeds United at Elland Road a result that kept the reigning Premier League champions languishing in eighth place, ten points behind leaders Arsenal. But the real shock came after the match, when Salah delivered one of the most explosive interviews of his Liverpool career.

“Someone Wants Me to Get All the Blame”

Salah, now 33, admitted he believes the club is shifting accountability onto him despite everything he has contributed over the years.

“I’m very, very disappointed. I have done so much for this club… It seems like the club is throwing me under the bus. That’s how I feel.”

The forward, who scored a staggering 34 goals last season, has struggled to replicate that form this campaign netting only four times in 13 Premier League games. But he insists the issue runs deeper than performances.

“It’s very clear that someone wants me to get all the blame.”

Relationship With Slot “No Longer Exists”

Perhaps the most alarming admission was Salah’s claim that his once-strong relationship with manager Arne Slot has collapsed without explanation.

“I said many times before I had a good relationship with the manager and all of a sudden we don’t have any relationship. I don’t know why.”

Slot, who has benched Salah for three straight matches, defended the decision by insisting the game situation didn’t require him.

“We were 2–0 up, we were 3–2 up… It was about controlling the game. We didn’t need a goal.”

“I Earned My Position Here”

Salah didn’t hold back when discussing what he sees as a lack of respect from the club.

“I have done so much for this club to get the respect I want and I don’t have to go every day fighting for my position because I earn it.”

He pointed to different treatment received by other top strikers:

“Harry Kane went ten games without scoring and the media said, ‘Harry will score for sure.’
When it comes to Mo, he needs to be on the bench.”

The 33-year-old also revealed he met with the manager to discuss his future and suggested promises made to him in the summer have not been kept.

“I thought I’m going to renew here and end my career here but this is not according to the plan.”

A Dig at Carragher and a Hint at Goodbye

Salah also took a swipe at Liverpool legend Jamie Carragher, anticipating criticism from the Sky Sports pundit:

“Tomorrow you’re going to find Carragher is going to go for me again, again, again. That’s fine.”

With the Africa Cup of Nations beginning next week, Salah hinted he may have already played his last match at Anfield this season and possibly for Liverpool altogether.

“I will be at Anfield, say goodbye to the fans, go to the African Cup. I don’t know what will happen when I am there.”

What Comes Next?

Liverpool face Inter Milan in the Champions League on Tuesday before hosting Brighton next weekend. But the bigger question now looms large:

Has Mo Salah already emotionally checked out of Liverpool and is this the beginning of the end?

If this rift cannot be repaired, one of the greatest players in Liverpool’s modern era may be heading for the exit door far sooner than anyone expected.
