Manchester United continued their flawless pre-season run in the Premier League Summer Series with an emphatic 4-1 victory over Bournemouth at Chicago’s Soldier Field on Wednesday. The win marked their second successive triumph following a 2-1 win over West Ham earlier in the tournament.

United took an early lead through Denmark striker Rasmus Hojlund, who timed his header to perfection from a curling cross by Patrick Dorgu inside the opening eight minutes. Dorgu doubled the lead in the 25th minute with a composed finish after a clever free-kick delivery from Mason Mount.

Amad Diallo made it 3-0 shortly after the break, adding further gloss to United’s dominant display. With 20 minutes remaining, manager Ruben Amorim made nine substitutions, bringing on several fresh faces, including teenage midfielder Ethan Williams, who marked his appearance by scoring with a low, precise finish just two minutes after coming on.

Bournemouth’s only consolation came late in the game with an unfortunate own goal by United’s Matthijs de Ligt in the 88th minute.

The match took place under challenging weather conditions with rain and wind affecting play, but United’s control and attacking fluidity were evident throughout.

Elsewhere in Chicago, West Ham came from behind to beat Everton 2-1 in another Premier League friendly. Everton’s manager David Moyes admitted his squad was not yet ready for competitive action, highlighting the challenges the team faces ahead of the new season.

The Summer Series concludes this Sunday in Atlanta, with Manchester United scheduled to face Everton, while West Ham take on Bournemouth.
